A Different Kind of Counsel

Sustainable? What sustains?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:43 pm

In a longer conversation this week with a colleague the topic turned to sustainability. This word gets good use in talking about environmental and economic issues. His insight and the one that launched a long conversation is this, to work toward sustainability one needs to work with renewable resources.

What are your renewable resources? What sustains you?

These would seem simple questions and one’s answer should flow directly and immediate. Yet in the several times since then that I have asked this question in conversations I received uncertain responses.

So if you have not done so yet ask yourself now, “What sustains you? ”

Any surprises in your answer?

What I do.

I bring something extra to my work with certain leaders, a kind of counsel that combines spiritual and organizational practices. This combination shaped as it is by advanced theological education, the rigors of corporate consulting and training and global experience as an organizational psychologist gives you, the client, powerful resources for making a difference and achieving results in your current situation.  I bring experience working with clergy, lay leaders, boards and judicatories in developing effective solutions.  Most of all, I take seriously the privilege of working with committed and deeply faithful people to develop and deploy their strengths. On the corporate side, I have work with numerous religious and not-for-profit groups as well as companies throughout United States and Europe, including Emerson, The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, The Danforth Foundation and Pfizer.

In spiritual direction I have worked with individuals and groups to tap into their deepest beliefs to help them bring what they believe in alignment with what they do.

If you want to take this integrated approach, I can help. By blending the best practices of both corporate management consulting and spiritual direction to bring you resources that align with your life, your faith and your mission.
